The Legion's mission is to safeguard the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or have served in the Armed Forces.

The Royal British Legion's Benefits and Money Advice Service is a new initiative designed to give practical money and benefits advice to beneficiaries who are experiencing financial difficulties.

We are looking for an experienced Benefits and Money Adviser who is a motivated self-starter, able to help embed this new service into our existing Pensions and Benefits team. As part of this team, you will need to have a thorough working knowledge of money advice and welfare benefits, gained as part of the CAB or a similar organisation, be able to work without supervision and be able to offer written and oral advice to our beneficiaries and their creditors.

Although reporting to our Pensions and Benefits Department in Head Office, you will be based at our Bury St Edmunds office and be expected to travel regularly within Suffolk to offer face-to-face support as necessary to our client group, and also travel to London for training and meetings.

CHAS - Housing aidHousing adviser AND Debt Adviser

CHAS is a specialist housing advice agency, assisting people with housing, debt and welfare benefit problems.

£20,099 to £22,845 (scp 24-28) 37 hours per week

You will need at least 12 months experience of giving advice for a specialist agency. The successful candidates will become part of a friendly team and should also have the ability to work independently in these rewarding and complex roles.

Housing Adviser - It is essential that you have an understanding of housing law, homelessness & housing issues.

Debt Adviser - It is essential to have a knowledge of debt issues and remedies.

For both posts a knowledge of Welfare Benefits is desirable.

 

Administrative Worker

£14,197 to £14,882 Pro Rata (scp 11 - 13) 24 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced administrative worker with good IT skills, to provide day-to-day support to the debt and housing advice teams.
